The average life expectancy in 2020 was 81.8 years for men and 75.5 years for women.
But that’s not the good news. The good news is that both men and women will live longer in 2021 than in 2020, meaning that the average life expectancy will be about 79.1 years for both genders, which is pretty fantastic. But that’s not the bad news. The bad news is that it will be about two years shorter for women, and about three years shorter for men, meaning that the average life expectancy will be about 73.6 years for women and 72.
Our male and female life expectancy numbers are both pretty high. This is the first time we’ve seen the female life expectancy number go below men’s, and the male life expectancy number being higher than women’s. That’s also a huge change, and one that we’re all going to be paying attention to.
Its not that different from other countries, but the U.S. is one of the countries that is moving into a longer life expectancy. Some countries are starting to see the increase in life expectancy, others are trying to catch up. In the U.S., the trend started earlier in the decade and has continued for the past two years. Its a trend among the upper socioeconomic classes and among people who are employed.
The increase in life expectancy comes from a big improvement in the average age of death among the male population. The average age of death for men in the U.S. has increased from 74 to 75. This is due to a combination of both medical and behavioral changes. For example, the percentage of people who smoke has increased from 40% to 45% and the percentage of people who are overweight has increased from 27% to 35%.
In fact, there’s some good news. The fact that the average age of death among men has increased in the U.S. is also due to an improvement in longevity with fewer smokers and more people working. Also, the fact that the percentage of people who are overweight has increased is more due to better nutrition overall, which is helping men live longer.
Smoking and obesity have increased dramatically since the early 2000s, and there is no clear reason why. There are many factors, of course, but they do point in the direction of a changing environment which may have a positive effect on health.
While that’s good, the problem is that the U.S. has made some bad choices. If the environment has changed, it’s unlikely that all of these people can have a happy life, and it’s just as likely that they’re going to die.
