For years I’ve been obsessed with the sport of bodybuilding, which I’ve competed in all across the world (including the US and the UK). However, I’ve never been able to find the motivation to go to the gym. To make matters worse, I didn’t take up the sport until I was in my late twenties. I began lifting weights at a local gym and eventually began training in my own personal gym.
Ive recently become obsessed with fitness, and Ive been trying to find the motivation to go to the gym for some time. Ive been to the gym a few times in the last few months, and in many of these visits Ive discovered Ive not been the only one who has a problem with the gym.
I know a lot of people who have problems with the gym, and I’m not talking about just the regulars. I’m talking about people who aren’t quite able to commit to regular exercise or workout regimes. For example, I know a guy who doesn’t want to train in the gym, but has a tough time keeping it up. He’s always asking for excuses why he can’t do it.
This might sound like a small issue, but if you are constantly asking for excuses, you may not have what it takes to train. The thing is, in order to make these excuses work, you have to make excuses for yourself. As much as we hate to admit it, excuses are a part of the human condition. We all have them from time to time, so we have to just accept that they are part of our lives.
The problem comes from how we rationalize it. We want to believe that the excuses we make are real and can actually be used. This makes it easier to keep going when our motivation drops. We want to believe that the excuses only apply to us. That somehow the excuses we make will help us keep going. You can actually start to see how this works in action. Imagine you are asked to make a movie, but you only have a couple of hours to shoot it.
In the real world, this is the time-honored process of shooting a movie. It’s not that difficult. All you need is some cameras and a script and a crew and you are good to go. In the movie industry, it is a little more difficult because actors, directors, and editors have to read scripts and prepare for a shoot. You can’t just take a few hours and then go to the set and shoot it without giving it your full attention.
I always found the process of “preparing” for a shoot to be a little silly. In my mind, it just seemed like we were taking a lot of time to get ready in a set. I mean, we were shooting a movie, what do we need to do? How much time do we need to take for that? But then I’m sure I’m missing a few things.
Because of the complexity of a film shoot, the actors, directors, and editors, have strict deadlines and a need to keep everyone on track. However, it is a necessary evil. The most important thing is to make sure that the shots look exactly as they are supposed to look. Once you have a finished film, you need to make sure that everything is in sync and everything is perfect.
One of the most important things to remember about film is that the camera is always on you. If you are not on set at all, or if you are in the background, then you are not even looking at the camera. So don’t worry about what you are not doing, just focus on what you are doing. The same goes for any other type of shoot.
I’ll admit that I did not pay much attention to outfit videos (or workout videos anyway) until I was working for a major lifestyle magazine. The reason for that is that I have a very high threshold for perfection. I can only work with things that I know are going to be perfect or that I’ve seen a hundred times before. So I will only accept things that are flawless, but perfection is for the birds.
