That’s because we can easily imagine ourselves without those things. And while we like cheese, we tend to not like butter, so when we are hungry, we tend to want to avoid anything that comes close to being butter.
There are a few ways to get around this. One is to say, “I’ll never eat it.” That doesn’t work for me, because it’s a pretty good food. And I think that if you say that you will never eat it, that’s probably true. If you say you will never eat it because you don’t like it, you need to think about that a little bit more.
