You’d think this would be a good thing, but in the case of insects, it isn’t. Because all insects, including ants, are basically predators who are trying to eat us.
We see this problem over and over with ants. They are incredibly dangerous, and the more we let them eat us, the more we are likely to get attacked. There are several reasons why ants are so dangerous. First, because they are so unpredictable. A single ant can hide in a room for hours with no one suspecting anything. They can be everywhere at once, and you may not even know its there.
Even though ants are so unpredictable, they are also very intelligent and have a great deal of social intelligence. They can remember each other’s locations, and they can learn from one another. This is why ants are so dangerous. When they learn that they are being attacked, they are likely to act. They can swarm together, swarm like a swarm of bees, or they may even attack one another in an attempt to distract the attacker and make it easier to run.
Like ants, dogs do not usually eat their own kind. They need to learn to do that in order to survive. However, they can learn to eat each other when the opportunity presents itself. But that’s why it’s so hard for us to make friends with non-food animals.
Thats why dogs and cats have food, and cats and dogs have friends, and birds and bees and worms have food too.
The fact is that when our brains make the association between a dog and a dog, a cat and a cat, a bird and a bird, a worm and a worm, a bee and a bee, they create a specific type of neural network that connects us to a particular kind of animal. We are hardwired to associate animals with food, and animals with friends. Thats why when we encounter a non-food animal, it’s like we’ve been hit with a toxic mist.
