For a little while, the internet was all about food. There were hundreds of food blogs and thousands of people posting their life’s best recipes and reviews. But I think that the internet is much too crowded with good food for us to know what’s good. There’s nothing wrong with this, but the fact is, a lot of our favorite restaurants and products are not online.
There’s a good reason for this, too. I mean, if your favorite restaurant has a Facebook page that you really like, you’re probably going to do a lot of Facebook shopping. It’s because not everyone has a computer or a Facebook account. But the internet’s not the place to get good food.
And the internet is a terrible place for food products, because the internet doesn’t have the same standards as a brick and mortar restaurant does. Food Lion’s website says it serves the freshest, highest quality meat, and that it doesn’t use artificial preservatives or any other chemicals. But they’re not actually selling meat. They’re selling a plastic bag that looks like a bag of meat but it’s full of little plastic bags of food.
It is a strange thing that someone would sell a plastic bag of food in a restaurant. You would think someone would want to sell it for its actual weight but, at this point, the only logical thing to do is to sell it for its weight in plastic. And that would be wrong, because the actual weight of a bag of food is about the same as the weight of a bag of peanuts.
Well, at least you can still buy it in stores, where it looks like a plastic bag with meat and food inside.
