I have been a contractor for 20 years now and have been asked to do a few different jobs. I also get asked about my favorite places to shop. I have noticed that the areas that I have a favorite are the ones that are located in the city so it is always a good idea to visit these areas first when you’re buying a home.
It is true that you want to shop in the area that is closest to where you are living and have the cheapest rent, but you also want to shop in places that you can afford to live in. That is most often the home that you will be living in during construction, but you can also shop in the area where you work (if you have a job there) or the area where your kids play (if they are part of your family).
I have a house in one of the most expensive parts of town, so I usually try to do some shopping there first. To my surprise, that is not always the best idea. The reason is that I end up in the same neighborhood where my house is located and I end up spending a lot of money there, but I end up spending more money than I can afford.
I know, it might sound like I’m making too much of this, but sometimes I do end up just standing at my house and buying things with my debit card that I really want, just to spite my wallet. In fact, I’ve had to pay cash for a few things in my past.
So what’s the point of that? Well, because the cashier at my grocery store didn’t even pay me with a card, I ended up paying with a check. The check, of course, wasn’t cashed or anything, it was made out to my company. Which in turn, allowed me to take a full-sized shopping bag of groceries home with me. I did not have to pay with a credit card. The point being that the cashier was not a complete jerk.
A lot of people are surprised to learn that I live alone. I have an 8-year-old daughter who is my only child. She is the last person I would expect to have all of my money in one place, but I live with my wife and our 4-year-old son in a small house. I have no bank account. I pay with debit cards or cash. The cashier at my grocery store had no problem with it.
I have learned that I am not the only one who is not thrilled about how this cashier treats me. A lot of people I know, and even some friends, think I’m a total douchebag because of it.
I’ve lived a life of privilege since I was about 9 years old. As a kid, I was able to ride my bike to school and do all sorts of things such as go to school dances. I still get to that point; there’s nothing wrong with having some money. The problem is I’m not allowed to have all the money in one place. I must keep it in multiple places and I have to make sure that each of those places is not in my name.
I think there is a lot more to being a douchebag than just being a big asshole. Ive seen people try to live a life of self-righteousness and pride, and I’ve seen them completely fail. If you think about it, you might not be the biggest asshole on the block. You might not even be the biggest asshole on the block because you aren’t trying to be.
