This is a dish that I just had to make for myself last weekend. I love to make any Chinese food, but this recipe was the first time I’ve made it and the flavors hit every part of my soul.
I love the way the different dishes on the menu reflect the different classes of Chinese cuisine in China. I especially love the way the different flavors make me feel like I’m eating something incredibly special. I like to think that this dish is an example of the “express chinese food” we have in the United States.
I recently spent a night with a friend who is from China. She was able to tell me that when she was a kid, she used to have a Chinese restaurant that was packed and full of people who didn’t speak English. It was amazing to see that it wasn’t just a country for the Chinese people. Her friend said that every single person there was a native English speaker who was making the dishes. It makes me wonder how much English is spoken in America.
The first time I went there, the waitstaff in the restaurant were really nice. I think it shows that it really doesn’t matter what kind of cuisine you’re eating, the people are still the same.
I’ve eaten in restaurants that weren’t as packed as this one. But I’ve also eaten in restaurants that were packed, and most of those were in the suburbs of my home town, and it seemed like the only English spoken there were in the waitstaff. Of course, I think it’s the same in America. I think the biggest problem with American restaurants is that they are so packed that you can’t really see the people who are eating.
The problem with American restaurants is that they are so full, that they seem to be more about trying to fill than to provide. It makes you feel like you are being treated like a member of the “in crowd” at a concert. In China, the problem is that they are the “in crowd” because the restaurant owners have no interest in actually serving you.
There are plenty of great Chinese restaurants in America now, so if you want to try them, just Google it. But there is a huge difference between a great Chinese restaurant in America and one in China. I won’t even get into the cuisine, but the lack of waitstaff, the long lines, and the lack of attention to detail all make Chinese restaurants in America feel like they haven’t been taken seriously.
Chinese restaurants in America are generally known for being much nicer than those in China. The good ones are usually super-expensive (which may be a good thing, but then again, who wants to pay $3 for a bowl of noodles?) and have a good selection of dim sum, noodles, and all sorts of delicious things that are probably better here than in China. The bad ones tend to be run by people who are just as bad, and they are known for making your food look awful.
The reason we are not in China is because we are not willing to pay 3 for a bowl of noodles. Not only that, but we also tend to eat our own food. I do not recommend that you try to eat Chinese food from a restaurant in America. I recommend you try one of the more interesting Chinese restaurants in your area. Maybe try your local Chinese fast food joint.
This is why we’re starting in Beijing, because while we have a lot of Chinese friends, the good ones tend to be here (in the States). We are not here to be Chinese, we are here to eat Chinese food. While there is no question that many restaurants around the world are terrible, we also know that we have a lot of them in our area, and we are not going to settle for the same quality everywhere.
