I’ve tried all of these food-reuse programs, and every one of them are, in my opinion, too expensive. I can’t justify spending $5 a month to get rid of food waste, so I’m looking for ways to get more out of my food dollar.

The reality is that food waste is a huge problem in the United States. It takes up about a half million tons of food each year, that’s around a third of the food supply. People only throw away enough food to feed a family of eight. This leads to serious waste and starvation, and the United Nations has estimated that in the span of only one year, the United States accounts for 60% of the world’s food waste.
And we’re not even talking about the stuff that is thrown away. It’s the things that are put into plastic containers. And this is even more problematic than just throwing away food. The plastic is incredibly heavy; it is the type of plastic that is used to make airplanes and ships. It also takes up a lot of space.
Of course the plastic is also used to make clothes. We all use clothes. So the fact that we are wasting food in plastic makes it even worse.
The problem with plastic is that it is a product of the plastic industry. We buy it because we are told to buy it. You can also get it in a lot of unhealthy or unhealthy ways. I’m sure there are some people in this world who are trying to clean up their food waste, that just isn’t the way of the world. But for the majority of us it seems we are the ones who are wasting things.
