What do you really believe? Is it that you are a good person? Is it the fact that you are kind? Is it the fact that you are grateful? Whatever it is, it’s the foundation of your daily life.
You can say “good” and “kind” and “grateful” to yourself at the same time. But you can’t use them to justify why you’re doing something. What you really believe, what you really want, whatever it is, is what you do everyday. It can be good, kind, grateful, whatever it is. Without it, you would be nothing.
We are grateful for everything we have. It comes from within us. It never makes sense to say it out loud, but it comes from within us anyway. It is our belief that we are good, kind, grateful, whatever it is. That’s all I need to say. I hope you believe it too.
The biggest way we can express gratitude is to do something good for someone else. And to be grateful is to be honest about the fact that we are not perfect, there is a lot about us that we dont like. And if you can be honest about it, then you will understand that we can be grateful for you, you have that much in common with us.
This is a very humanistic attitude. We’re pretty much always asking ourselves a question. What would you rather do, be grateful or be poor? Being grateful helps you feel that you are making a difference, but being poor helps you feel worthless. So being poor helps you feel like you are less worthy, so that you can act grateful.
Being grateful allows us to feel validated for being human. So, if someone says to you, “I hope you are grateful for your life, because you are so much more than just the person who happens to be on Deathloop.” Well, then you realize that you can also be grateful for your life.
The idea behind grateful affirmations is that we are all given the opportunity to be grateful. We are all given the opportunity to feel valued, to feel special, to be worthy. So we should be grateful.
The concept of gratefulness is one that is so powerful that it can change our behaviors. So rather than just saying things like “I’m grateful for my life,” we can instead say things like “I’m grateful for the opportunity for my life to be lived” or “I’m grateful for the opportunity to be born.
Thanks to the social contract, we should be grateful for all the opportunities we have to be in control of our lives. But we shouldn’t be grateful for everything we have. It’s easy to feel as though you’re getting a free ride, and feel as though you have no control over anything. But we should recognize that the things we do to get those opportunities are often the things that really hold us back from achieving our goals.
It’s easy to feel like we have all the answers, but we only get one chance to make the best of any situation. So make sure you’re not being greedy with the best of the best – the things you should be grateful for.
