I’ve also seen the workout video for the water workouts, and it looks fun, but I’m not sure how safe they are. I like them because I can easily see how they help you build strength, but I don’t know if this workout is just a way for people to get fit while at the pool. If you do this workout in a pool or in a yard, you can always use bodyweight exercises such as pushups or lunges.

I know I’m just talking about them because I do the same thing, but I can’t help but think it’s kind of an irresponsible move to take your bodybuilding to the extreme. Sure, you can build muscle mass while at the gym, but you also need to keep your body in balance, which means working hard and not overdoing it. If you use these kinds of workouts in a pool, you can always use bodyweight exercises like pullups and squats.

But I have to say, I think the idea of the gym to this extent is really a bit overdone. If you want to get stronger, you can do those body weight exercises, but I think the better idea would be to build a proper strength program. Like the bodybuilding programs that are popular already.

I think there are certainly many ways to build a strength program besides bodyweight workouts. As I said in the intro, building strength is more of a mental than physical effort. If you want to build strength, you need to make an emotional commitment to it. This can be as simple as making sure you eat right and exercise with the same frequency as your everyday life.
