Gymnastics was the childhood dream of my husband and me. We grew up watching our mom, Dottie, and her friends compete. We loved the physical strength, grace, and athleticism that gymnastics brought. After high school, we were determined to go to college and continue our training. My husband’s gymnastics career is still going strong, and he is now taking up the sport of swimming.

Our first time swimming in a pool, we did it in San Antonio, and we both loved it. I would describe swimming as being like being in the ocean, but without the waves. You float, just like a fish. After we got our first free-dive, we did it three more times.
