I’ve always wondered about how long an insanity workout should last. Personally, I think they should be for at least 20 minutes. Maybe 30? Or longer. The only time I would feel bad about that is if I would be doing something bad to myself.
I think you should start with something fairly light. Something like a jog, walk, or sit-down. After 20 minutes, make sure you’ve got a good workout in mind. After 30 minutes your body should feel relaxed and you should be ready to try something new.
The best insanity workout Ive ever been on was a 45 minute power walk. It was hot and I was sweating and tired. I think it was around 90 degrees. The walk was about as far from the gym, as you can get. I have to admit, I wasn’t that good at it. It took me a couple months to get my legs to do it. But you have to start somewhere.
Like the power walk, I recommend starting your madness workout with a sit-down. You’ll be amazed at the results you can get from that.

This is a good time to point out that insanity workouts are a great way to get in shape if you have no idea what you are doing. But you do have to start somewhere. You can do a 30 minute walk first and then go for a half hour power walk, or you can do your power walk first and then go for a half hour walk. The key is just getting your body moving.
I agree with the idea that starting with a sit-down is a great way to get yourself in shape. But I also think it can be a bit of a challenge to sit down and just do something like that for 30 or 60 minutes. Especially if you have no clue what you are doing.
This is why I think mental exercises are a much better idea than cardio. The mental side of the exercise provides the foundation for the physical part of the exercise. Mental exercises can be done whenever you feel like it. For example, I think the best time to do mental exercises is when you are doing something else, like watching a TV show or cleaning your room. Even though it’s hard work, it’s fun to do it when you feel like it.
In my opinion, the best mental exercise is a memory game. You can work all day and not remember your goal, you can work all day and remember a goal that you had, but it’s still hard. And, you can actually feel what you are supposed to be doing. I am thinking of a memory game that I did, and it was like a memory game that you did. So, you know, it’s hard work but it makes you feel like you are doing it.
Most of us take our own personal “insanity” workout seriously, but most people don’t even think that those are real exercises. When my friend Jason came in he had just finished his first day of an insanity workout, and he had barely scratched the surface of how stupid he was to even try to do it.
