In my opinion, a person’s most important goal is to stay alive. Therefore, if someone is able to make it to the end of their work day without injury, they should be able to work up to six hours.
Technically, that’s true, but the truth is that most people don’t seem to be able to stay in their office at the same pace that they would if they were working overtime. Most people have a set amount of time that they work when they are on a schedule. The problem is not that they are not able to maintain the pace at which they are on a schedule, but rather that they just don’t want to.
It takes a lot of willpower to stay on a schedule. And thats what makes it so difficult to get off. Even if you can get yourself over the hump of working a certain amount of hours, it always feels easier to go back to the same old routine. And so, when you’re the type to think that you’re going to get to the end of your work day without getting hurt, you will work yourself to the point of exhaustion.
A treadmill is a machine that slowly increases the speed at which you run. At first it might seem like a great idea, but eventually you realize that you are just doing it for the sake of running. You dont know what you are doing, and the machine moves you to a new speed on a schedule. Once you get used to the treadmill, it becomes a lot easier to get off it. I used to have a friend who would spend a great deal of time on a treadmill.
