We are taught to eat cereal for breakfast. We are also taught that if we eat it at the same time every day, we will feel full. We are also taught that if we eat it with a glass of milk, we will get the same amount of calories out of it.
This is pretty much true. The problem is that when you’re actually hungry, you’re more likely to break the “eating at the same time” rule. And if you are, you’ll end up eating more calories than you would have if you’d only eaten cereal. This is why, when I read or hear that cereal is the best food for breakfast, I usually eat it with a glass of milk. But I don’t drink milk with cereal.
