I’m a big fan of low tones. This isn’t to say that I don’t like dark or bright colors. I do, but I also like a calm, cool, and even temperament. There is nothing more calming than a cool, even tone, especially when you are trying to speak in a challenging and passionate tone.
Im not a big fan of low tones, but I do appreciate a calm, even tone. Thats why I like to use a lot of cool colors in my paintings. In my paintings I use colors to create a calm, even, even tone, which is very different from the blues, greys, and blacks that dominate the majority of commercial and gallery work.
What I want to know is why do people always choose the dark browns when they are trying to paint? I think it’s because they are afraid of looking pale and boring. I know that this is often not a fair question, but I hope you might enlighten me.
If you’re a professional or semi-professional painter, I see little reason why you’d choose a dark brown. First off, because that’s where all the tonal gradations are. Second, because it’s also the most boring color. Third, because it can look a little bit washed out when using a flat brush. The most important thing is that it doesn’t look like a clown when you do it.
What I mean is, a brown is great for general use. A dark brown is great for drawing on, but it shouldnt be used for coloring. A white is good if you want to use it to shade the areas you want to darken. A dark brown is good for coloring in, but it should always be used as a base color. If you paint a brown on a light background, youve just turned it into a dull brown.
My husband once told me that when I was a kid, I always wanted to paint an old car. I thought it would be fun to paint the interior of an old car. After I painted the interior of an old car, I realized that the paint had to be worn down before I could use it.
I’ve always enjoyed painting cars. I don’t think I’ve ever painted a car that had a more detailed interior than any of my other cars. I just can’t paint anything with a lot of detail. I have a black leather jacket, a black tuxedo, and a black tuxedo shirt all from my past. The only thing I’m going to do is go back and paint my wife’s clothes. I also love black leather pants.
I have also always viewed painting as a very personal and intimate act. I think that’s why we paint. We are not just a collection of shapes that we can pick out and look at. We are people, with bodies and souls.
Yes, we paint to communicate with the world about ourselves, but we also paint to be creative and expressive. Painting to communicate with the world does not mean we can’t have a great life and do whatever we want. Just like someone who is painting because they can be creative and expressive about their life doesn’t mean they can’t be a great wife and mother but their work of art is not the end of the world.
Painting is a form of communication; so in the same way that we talk to ourselves in the shower or on a long plane ride, we talk to the world in our painting, if we are trying to communicate with it.
