Its a shame because we arent sure what the right ingredient is for Mexican food, and we dont want to resort to cheap, generic ones. But the best chili isnt necessarily the cheapest. The most important thing is to find ingredients that you love, and to make sure that they taste good.
I don’t know how we could have ended up with a bad chili, but we did. We had just found a cheap (and bad) cheap Mexican food recipe, and it didnt really taste like chili. It was more like a soup/stew than chili. Not a bad recipe, but a recipe that doesnt taste good.
