I’ve been a part of a gym for almost a year now and I’ve already been out of the gym at least two times in that time. One of those times was on my commute to the office. I was in the neighborhood and had an open gym in my driveway. I came out of the garage feeling tired, but also a bit frustrated.
As soon as I stepped out of my car I felt a wave of anger in my chest. I was pissed that I needed to go to work but I couldn’t bring myself to walk outside no matter what. My anger was partly due to seeing the entire gym filled up with people, not just the guys working out. I was also pissed that I was the only gym member that was even in the same gym as me.
I think it’s part of the problem that we never really become aware of ourselves. If we could, we would have been able to stop being mad at people if they didn’t know we were there. We don’t have that luxury.
Myles is the new guy. I think he is the only person that has a real personality. He also looks like he could kick your ass.
I don’t think it’s a bad thing that we don’t always have to be mad at people. It just means that we are more often than not looking for things to hate. I think we may even be addicted to it.
Our addiction to being mad at people can be seen in our lives, from the occasional angry email to people who seem to have no idea what they are talking about, to the person who is always ready to jump on them and verbally attack. We also have this addiction to being angry at ourselves. We love to find reasons for why we are not happy and if we can find the perfect excuse why we are not happy, then our happiness will come from that.
In the past, the “perfect excuse” for not being happy was usually a very bad one. You know, the kind of thing you just want to cry over, but you don’t really know why you’re not happy. Well, the “perfect excuse” we’re talking about for getting mad at ourselves is a bit different. We are mad at ourselves when we find out we are not happy.
The problem with this is that it is very easy to be mad at ourselves when we are unhappy. When we find that we are not happy, the very very first thing we do is tell ourselves that we are not happy. Because telling ourselves we are not happy is the one thing that makes us stay mad at ourselves – because we are basically admitting that we are not happy.
In my experience, people who are unhappy with themselves tend to be people who have trouble admitting that they are unhappy. When I say people, I mean people who do things out of a lack of self-awareness (which is not a bad thing). People who don’t admit to themselves that they are unhappy tend to be people who have trouble not only admitting that they are unhappy, but also admitting that they are happy.
This is true no matter what the cause of your unhappiness is. All it takes is a little self-awareness to see that you are unhappy, and you can get rid of it. However, if you don’t acknowledge that you are unhappy, it can be hard to get rid of the unhappy parts of yourself.
