I like to make a mean cup of coffee, and then I like to have a cup of tea. This is why I like the word “positive” in the word “coffee.” This is also why we don’t use the word “coffee.” I like to think of coffee as an oasis in our lives. We are able to have a cup of coffee anytime, anywhere, whenever we want.
In the beginning of the book, we see one of our characters, an aspiring author named Sarah, having a cup of coffee with a friend of hers. Then she puts her cup down, and the coffee is suddenly gone. This is because there was something odd with the process of brewing a cup of coffee. Sarah had apparently used too much coffee, and that was a problem. (I’ll have more on this in the next book.
In the book, our hero Sarah is a young woman who has recently been published to fame. When she is trying to figure out why she has a cup of coffee every day, she is trying to make herself a cup of coffee from ground beans. She decides that she does not like coffee beans, nor do she have a cup of coffee every day, so she is trying to make up for it by brewing a cup of coffee from ground coffee.
Like the book, the coffee puns are all over the place. The book has a variety of weird and wonderful coffee puns like “You drank your coffee from the coffee can”, “You drank your coffee from the coffee can in the kitchen”, “You drank your coffee from a coffee cup”, and “You drank your coffee from the coffee can in the fridge”. In the book, our hero Sarah is using the coffee puns to make herself a cup of coffee from ground beans.
The book is actually more of a collection of quotes from people who have experienced different ways of getting to the point of getting a cup of coffee. Sarah, the protagonist, is basically an amalgamation of The Dude, Mark Twain, and some of the most creative coffee-puns I have ever read. She has a coffee can in her hand, a coffee cup in the kitchen, and a coffee can in the fridge. She’s not just talking about coffee, though.
Of course, there are many other things in the book that are coffee related, including a man named J.J. who says, “Honey, I believe in coffee… I have a secret weapon for that.” J.J. is also obsessed with the movie ‘Rent’.
But don’t worry Sarah, we’re not done yet. There is more in the book that can be described as coffee-puns (with the exception of J.J.’s secret weapon) and they are all over this new book trailer we’re shown.
I love the idea of J.J.s secret weapon. One of the most intriguing things about the book is that J.J.s secret weapon is not a gun. It’s a giant coffee can. The can is actually a bit bigger than a normal can, but it allows J.J.s secret weapon to operate in a way that allows him to do great feats of destruction. As a side note, the fact that a coffee can fits perfectly in a book trailer is great.
The book trailer is also great because it seems to hint at what is coming in the next book in the series. The next book in the series is titled “The Coffee Can Chronicles.” While we don’t know much about it yet, it seems to be focused on a larger picture of J.J.s future. J.J.s secret weapon will be a secret weapon, but he also has a secret plan to bring a group of Visionaries to ruin.
For J.J., the first book in the series, is about him becoming a soldier and coming to terms with his new-found power. The next book, The Coffee Can Chronicles, is about his future as a secret agent.
