My personal favorite resistance band exercise, or band exercise, is one that I started doing after many years of teaching yoga. I wanted to do something new to challenge myself, and I discovered that if I did a single stretch, my body would start to feel strong and I’d feel it a bit less fatigued. That’s when I knew that the stretch I was doing was worth doing.
I love stretching, but a stretching routine without a stretch target is just a stretch routine. For the rest of us, the stretch that we’re doing is usually a stretch we want to do, and then we can do a stretch just because. As a matter of fact, I feel that stretching is the simplest way to get a workout in, and it’s also one of the most effective ways to build a strong core.
The stretch I was doing this morning was a simple stretch of my shoulder, then I switched to my glutes and I was doing a side pull. You can do some basic exercises to do side pulls, like plank, a pull up, and a shoulder press. I think you can get a shoulder press pretty easily in the gym. Even if you don’t have a gym, the exercises I’ve listed above would be a good place to start.
So basically, I’m working my core and my shoulders. I can always add a good side stretch here. And if you don’t have a gym, you can pretty much do this anywhere.
My plan is to put the stretch out the door at the end of this week. I need to do this because I have a sore shoulder, and I dont know how to rest it. I’ve used a lot of exercises in my training.
