Our local food co-op has been a part of my life for the past few years. In the beginning I was a bit skeptical that what I was learning was for me. The first meeting I had with the co-op master was when I told him I would like to be a part of the co-op. He asked me what I wanted to do and I told him I wanted to start a food co-op.

The first thing I asked him was if I had to go to a meeting if I wanted to be a part of the co-op. The answer was yes, I needed to meet him before the meeting so that he could give me a business card. He said it was okay if I wanted to go to the meeting but that I would need to bring the money with me.

In the co-op business, it’s usually the profit that people are looking for, but the co-op business is not just about making money. A co-op is a social, economic, and political system that allows members to be independent from each other in the long-term.

The pink food you can buy from any vendor in the co-op, but you’ll have to pay for it.
