We don’t think about the cells that are inside us. All we see are our cells. We know that they are made up of parts called “macrocells” and “microcells,” but we don’t know what each of these parts do. We only know that they are alive, which means that they are constantly working to create and distribute energy.
At the most basic level, a cell is a collection of smaller molecules. In fact, the name cell is a misnomer for this collection of molecules, because its not as simple as a collection of atoms or molecules. Instead the cell is a complex three-dimensional structure. We can see this in our body, where our cells are attached to each other to form a whole.
Our cells use energy stored in food to produce energy. The energy is stored in a sort of chemical energy called adenosine triphosphate (ATP). This ATP can only be utilized by our cells if there is enough food in our body. It’s the same as what happens when you drink something that makes you feel thirsty. The body’s cells can only take in enough energy to sustain itself if food is available.
If you think of the organelles as our cells, then the energy inside the cell is the food. If we want to excrete the energy back into the body, we need to break down the food and the energy. This is called an anaerobic reaction. The process, in more or less the same way, is what occurs when you take a drink of soda.
The process occurs when food is processed or metabolized, but instead of going into the bloodstream, it’s in our cells. The process then breaks down the food into energy. The energy is then released as a “waste” energy that is then used for other purposes. The energy is then used to power our muscles, our cells, and our nervous system. It is also the process that powers our digestion, our digestion being the primary function of all cells in the body.
