I see what you are saying. I actually did this for a while to lose weight. I did a lot of cardio and walking (and eating healthier) and then I put the exercise into my workouts. Plus, it keeps my legs from getting too tired.
It does. I can see how it would be one of the most effective ways to burn fat. I do a lot of walking too. I have to walk more than I want to because I have to get to work. I do cardio. I have a lot of walking. I also use a lot of cardio as well.
In my opinion, there is no such thing as “the best workout”. The exercise you do has to be beneficial, and your goal in doing it should be to get the results you want.
