We tend to be more comfortable in our own skin than we are in others, so it’s not surprising that we’re more comfortable inside our own head, especially if we’re introverted. For me, this means that I prefer comfort foods with bold colors, bold flavors, and bold textures.
Comfort foods are good for us, too. They’re easy to prepare, they’re easy to eat, and they’re easy to digest. So they’re good for us.
The idea that comfort foods are good for you is not a new one. It’s been a common belief for most of human history that eating comfort foods makes a person feel better, including the ancients. There’s even a theory that the practice of eating comfort food might have actually helped alleviate the suffering of the suffering in the world, as we know from the fact that many of our ancestors suffered from disease, hunger, and cold.
But now, thanks to the internet, we can re-examine this idea and see it for what it is: a myth. There’s no evidence that these foods actually make us feel better like we think they do. We can find some evidence, however, that eating comfort food might actually make us fat. In other words, eating comfort food may actually make you look like we do. And that is not a good thing.
According to the latest numbers from the National Institutes of Health, being overweight is more common among children than adults. In fact, there are 2.5 times as many obese children as obese adults. This is because children are still having to fight the battle of being overweight. Just like we did a long time ago.
It will be a long time before we get to the bottom of this conundrum of whether being overweight is a good idea or not. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to eat better and be more active. So, I’ll still be eating comfort foods, if that’s what it takes to feel better. I’m going to focus on what I like to call “eating comfort food near me”.
