I know you’re all tired of hearing about the stairmaster, and I’m not going to be the one to start that conversation, but he does seem to do a pretty good job at building muscle. It’s not just the stairmaster that does this. Even when we’re not using our muscles in a stair master workout, our brain still has a pretty good idea of what it wants to do.
I think I mentioned in a past article that our brain constantly tells us what we want to do. A lot of the time it is more than simply telling us how to use our body, it actually wants to do something. In the same way that we take the stairs, our brains want the stairmaster to get up and start running.
Our brains are basically the best way to train muscle. We train our brains to get stronger by getting more reps in a certain way. For example, if you are doing an exercise like stairmaster, you will want to do it once per day. The stairmaster has a timer at the bottom of the stairs. The more often you get up the better you will be when you’re done.
You will not do this exercise for the purpose of building muscle. Your goal in doing it is to get better at it. When you are doing it, you are simply helping your body get stronger.
I don’t know what it is about stairmaster, but it sounds like a good idea. I have been using it to tone my muscles for almost a year now. I have not yet done the full cycle of it, but I have gotten stronger as a result.
Timer is an exercise I think you should do to build muscle. The benefits to doing it are that you will be stronger and more efficient at timing your movements. You might even be able to find a more efficient way to get up the stairs. I think it can be done without a gym membership, but getting the proper equipment and proper training is important.
