The problem is that we are all creatures of oxygen, and as a result, we don’t have the luxury of not thinking about something. While this can be fun, it can also be a major hindrance to our lives if we are unaware of a potential negative outcome.
When I was in high school, I got into a fight with my friend. I lost, but as a result of that fight I went through a period of adjustment. When I would get the opportunity I would always think, “Gosh, I could die right now,” but I would always choose not to. This was because I was constantly aware that if I died, I would die alone, without friends, without any hope of ever being able to talk with anyone again.
We are not aware that if we die, we die alone and without friends. When we are aware of that possibility, we are able to choose to live. We can choose to make the best use of our time and energy. We can choose to do the most productive things we can do. We can choose to take care of our health. We can choose to take care of our families. We can choose to take care of our friendships. We can choose to take care of our selves.
We can choose to be alive. We can choose to live. We can choose to be part of the world around us. We can choose to take care of each other. We can choose to not be on the wrong side of death, and we can choose to not be on the wrong side of anything.
The point has been made before, but it bears repeating: we can choose to be alive. We can choose to take care of each other. We can choose to take care of ourselves. We can choose to live. While we can all choose to be part of the world around us, it’s not always an easy task. In fact, it’s difficult to not step on the toes of any of the people around you. In an emergency, the rules of thumb we all use to decide who to listen to or who to let die should be thrown out the window.
This is because you can’t actually stop people from doing what they want to do. The problem is that we all use a different set of tools to make these decisions and most of those tools are too limited and too prone to be manipulated. I was talking with my girlfriend today about how much I love the way she always leaves her keys in the door that she opens.
We all do it. I mean, I don’t know about everyone, but I do it. I leave mine in the bathroom door on the way into bed, so all the guys I have sex with can come in and get it. I leave mine in the kitchen door, so that my dad can get it when he wants to go drinking. I leave mine in the bathroom door, so my boyfriends can pee without me having to get up.
Well this is no way to treat you or your girlfriend, but just because you leave something in your door doesn’t mean your girlfriend doesn’t see it. It might be in the same room as the bathroom and just a few feet from the door, but your girlfriend is going to notice it.
Ok, let’s discuss this for a second. I’m not going to tell you to leave something in your door, because that’s basically the same thing as leaving something in your girlfriend’s door. It’s a bad move because it can be dangerous. Instead, you should leave something in your door that a) is easily accessible and b) can be quickly and easily retrieved by your girlfriend.
