I’ve tried tricep exercises, but it never really felt like a workout. I’ve always been scared of the idea of doing something that would hurt my muscles or tear my tendon. I’m not saying it wasn’t good for me to try tricep workouts, but I don’t think doing them on a regular basis would be worth it.

If you can do them without any equipment, then you can also do a variety of tricep exercises that are more demanding but will give you the same fat burning results. So for example, you can do a tricep press, or a tricep press with weight on your back, or a tricep press with weight on your legs, etc, etc. The important thing is to engage in these lifts regularly, but not in a gym.
It can be tempting to do a set of tricep exercises, but you should avoid the temptation of going to a gym for a full set of the lifts. Instead, go to a gym or a home gym where they will be doing a set of exercises for you. If you go to a gym and then come back home and do a tricep exercise set, you will probably be more sore than if you just did the exercises at home, if you even lift at all.
The tricep exercises are not the only exercises that should be avoided. If you have any kind of soreness in your tricep, or any other part of your body, you are going to need to take it easy. If you are too sore to do tricep workouts, you probably need to go back to doing some form of exercise that doesn’t involve the tricep.
